From his earliest days,
Fred Tropea was immersed
in the construction industry.
He worked with his family as he was growing up, spending summers and school vacations involved in building projects. Shortly after graduating from college, Fred combined his building experience with his interest in electrical work, and formed his own electrical contracting company, specializing in renovations and new home construction.

During the following 22 years, Fred built a successful company, while keeping his hand in the construction business. He managed general contracting projects for friends and family, and partnered on projects with other builders. In 1987, Fred decided to focus on his passion for the “heavy machinery and dirt, the hands-on work of crafting a home, and the satisfaction of a job well done.” He changed his focus from electrical contracting to building, and formed his own construction company. For more than 15 years, Fred has enjoyed steady growth in both his business and reputation, creating successful vibrant communities along with many satisfied customers. Today, Tropea Communities builds more than 150 homes annually.

While many builders panelize homes with prefabricated components, Tropea tradesmen construct each home completely on-site using traditional building methods. This hands-on approach assures construction integrity from the first nail to the finishing touches. The company incorporates energy efficient technologies and products that meet or exceed the Environmental Protection Agency's EnergyStar recommendations. Additionally, before settlement, a Tropea manager spends several days inspecting the home to assure that every detail has been perfected.
